Privacy Policy

How Savetra collects, uses, and protects your personal information — including Google account data.

Google API Limited Use Disclosure

Savetra's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google data to provide and improve the features described in this policy.

Section 01

Interpretation & Definitions

Words with capitalized initial letters have meanings defined below. These definitions apply whether the terms appear in singular or plural form.

Section 02

Google Account & Contacts Data

This section specifically describes how Savetra handles data obtained through Google APIs and your Google Account. Please read this section carefully.

What Google Data We Access

When you choose to use Savetra's contact import feature, you will be asked to grant Savetra permission to access your Google Account. Specifically, we request the following Google API scope:

Purpose: To write and import batch contacts directly into your Google Contacts on your behalf.

Why We Need This Access

Savetra's core feature allows users to download batches of WhatsApp-ready contacts and import them directly into their Google Contacts account. This eliminates the need to save hundreds of contacts manually one by one. The contacts scope is required to perform this write operation on your behalf.

What We Do With Your Google Data

  • We write batch contact data (names and phone numbers) into your Google Contacts — with your explicit permission.
  • We do not read, store, or analyze your existing Google Contacts.
  • We do not retain any data from your Google Account on our servers after the import is complete.
  • We do not use your Google Contacts data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond completing the import you requested.
  • We do not share your Google Contacts data with any third parties.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Savetra's use of information received from Google APIs strictly adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • Google data is only used to provide and improve the contact import feature within Savetra.
  • Google data is never used for serving advertisements.
  • Google data is never used for any purpose unrelated to improving user-facing features.
  • Humans at Savetra do not read your Google data unless you explicitly request support and provide permission, or it is required for security purposes.
  • We do not allow third parties to access Google user data except as necessary to provide the Savetra service, subject to confidentiality agreements.

Revoking Google Access

You can revoke Savetra's access to your Google Account at any time by visiting your Google Account permissions page and removing Savetra from the list of connected apps. Revoking access will not delete contacts already imported.

Section 03

Data We Collect

Personal Data You Provide

When using Savetra, we may collect the following information:

  • Name — provided during registration or profile setup.
  • Email address — used for authentication (Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In) and communications.
  • Phone number — used as part of your Savetra contact profile included in batches you participate in.
  • Payment information — processed securely via Paystack. We do not store card details on our servers.
  • Referral data — information about users you referred to Savetra for commission tracking.

Batch & Contact Data

When you join a Savetra batch, your name and phone number are included in the contact batch file made available to other batch participants. By joining a batch, you consent to your contact information being shared with other batch members for WhatsApp visibility purposes.

Usage Data

We automatically collect usage data including your IP address, device type, operating system, app version, pages visited, time spent, and crash reports. This helps us maintain and improve the Service.

Authentication Data

Savetra uses Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In. We receive your name and email from these providers solely for authentication purposes. We do not receive or store your passwords.

Section 04

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your Savetra account.
  • To process batch joining fees and referral commissions via Paystack.
  • To compile and deliver contact batch files to batch participants.
  • To import contacts into your Google account when you use the import feature.
  • To send push notifications and emails about batch readiness, new batches, and account activity.
  • To manage referral tracking and commission payouts.
  • To detect fraud, abuse, and maintain platform security.
  • To analyze usage trends and improve the Savetra platform.
  • To comply with applicable Nigerian laws and regulations.
Section 05

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

With Batch Participants

Your name and phone number are shared with other users in the same batch. This is the core function of the Service and is consented to when you join a batch.

With Service Providers

  • Paystack — payment processing. Subject to Paystack's privacy policy.
  • Google — authentication and contacts import via Google APIs.
  • Apple — authentication via Apple Sign-In.
  • Firebase / Cloud infrastructure — hosting, push notifications, and analytics.

For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your data when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Savetra, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. You will be notified before such transfer occurs.

We never share your Google Contacts data with any third party for any purpose, including advertising, analytics, or data brokerage.

Section 06

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by Nigerian law.

  • Account data — retained until you delete your account.
  • Transaction records — retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
  • Google API data — not retained. Contact import data is processed in-session and not stored on our servers.
  • Usage data — retained for up to 12 months for analytics purposes.
Section 07

Data Transfer

Your information may be processed on servers located outside Nigeria, including countries where data protection laws may differ. By using Savetra, you consent to this transfer. We take all necessary steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy regardless of where it is processed.

Section 08

Deleting Your Data

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. You can:

  • Delete your account from within the Savetra app under Account Settings.
  • Visit our Account Deletion page to submit a formal deletion request.
  • Email us at hello@savetra.com with your deletion request.

Upon account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Note that your phone number may persist in batch files already downloaded by other users prior to deletion.

Section 09

Security of Your Data

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Google and Apple OAuth, and access-controlled backend systems.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Section 10

Children's Privacy

Savetra is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@savetra.com and we will promptly delete such information from our records.

Section 11

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice within the Savetra app at least 7 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Savetra after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
